Privacy notice
How we handle personal data sent through this website. Last updated 6 October 2026.
Who we are
This website is run by 8bitocean SIA · Riga, Latvia (“8bitOcean”, “we”), a member of Revesta Group. We are the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question, write to info@8bitocean.com.
What we collect
- Contact form and emails. Your name, email address and message. You decide what you send us. With a form message we also record the time it was sent, your IP address and your browser type, to protect the form against abuse.
- Technical data. When you visit the site, our servers and our content delivery and security provider (Cloudflare) process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it against abuse.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Why we use it
- To answer your message: our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), or, where you ask us to prepare an offer or a contract, steps taken at your request before a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To run, secure and protect the website, for example against spam and attacks (our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)).
Who receives it
Only the people at 8bitOcean who need it to answer you. We use service providers that process data on our behalf: our hosting provider, our email provider, and Cloudflare for content delivery and security. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, this is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep your messages for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and delete them when they are no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Server logs are kept for up to 14 days for security and then deleted.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from bots and abuse. The contact form may use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is sending the form.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, write to info@8bitocean.com. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in Latvia the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, www.dvi.gov.lv).
